NAROWAL – All preparations for the Kartarpur border corridor groundbreaking ceremony being held today in Narowal were concluded.
A stage with 20ft width and 60ft length has been set up while 4,000 chairs have been placed for the guests attending the event.
Sikh community is floating on the air as Prime Minister Imran Khan is set to perform the groundbreaking of the Kartarpur border corridor that connects India’s Gurdaspur district to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib located in Pakistan’s Narowal.

India last week gave the go-ahead to Pakistan’s proposal to build Kartarpur corridor to facilitate Sikh pilgrims wishing to visit the place that holds religious significance for the Sikh community; It is the place where Baba Guru Nanak settled down after his travels as a missionary.
Roads leading to the place of the event has been decorated with welcoming banners and baloons to receive the guests.
Pakistan security forces are also distributing sweets among the Sikh community members in the district to celebrate the event.

An Indian delegation, comprising former Indian cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, Minister for Food Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Minister for Housing Hardeep S Puri, reached Lahore to attend the event.
