LAHORE (APP) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Monday congratulated Ms Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy on winning the Oscar’s Award for the second time for her documentary “A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness”.
Lauding the efforts of Ms Sharmeen, the Prime Minister said that there was no place for killing in the name of honour in Islam.

The Prime Minister said his government was in the process of legislating to stop such brutal and inhumane acts in the name of honour.
“Women like Ms Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy are not only a pride for the Pakistani Nation but are also a significant contribution to the society.”
In his message, the PM said Sharmeen highlighted the name of Pakistan by raising a human issue. He said Pakistan is determined to protect the rights of women.
