ISLAMABAD: Pakistan says it is committed to a meaningful and constructive dialogue with India to resolve all outstanding issues, including Kashmir conflict.
The commitment was made by Foreign Secretary, Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry in a briefing to a group of foreign Ambassadors in Islamabad on Thursday.
The briefing was organized in connection with ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’, to be observed on the fifth of next month.
The Foreign Secretary stressed that resolution of Kashmir dispute is pivotal for peace, security and stability in the region. He stressed that the UN resolutions provide best solution to the issue.
He said elections in Occupied Kashmir could not be a substitute of the UN monitored plebiscite. He also expressed concern over the Indian attempts to alter demography of the Held territory.
The Foreign Secretary reiterated Pakistan’s unflinching political, moral and diplomatic support to the cause of Kashmiri people.
Expressing optimism on the deepening of relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Aizaz Chaudhry briefed the Ambassadors on the recent positive developments in the bilateral relations with Afghanistan.
