Protesters storm Wapda offices over loadshedding in Ramazan in multiple cities

PESHAWAR – Showing anger over unannounced laodshedding during the holy month of Ramazan, people staged protests and attacked Wapda offices in different parts of the country.

In Peshawar, a large number of people came out against 20-hour long loadshedding of electricity and are still demonstrating on Ring Road. The road has been closed for all kinds of transportation by the protesters. Police have reached the spot to control uncertainties.

In addition, violent protesters have stormed the Wapda office in Malakand Agency for not supplying electricity during Ramazan. The people set the records and furniture of the office on fire. The Levies officials have covered the area to disperse the demonstrators.

In Charsadda, a main road has been blocked by the people who are chanting slogans against the government against power cuts in the city. The protesters said that they will cover the local Wapda officer if their issues were not resolved.

Citizens of Karachi, Lahore and other cities are also annoyed over unannounced power cuts.
