KARACHI (Staff Report) – Police has arrested as many as two Muttahid Qaumi Movement (MQM) activists trained by Indian intelligence agency RAW in a raid on Wednesday, said SSP Malir Rao Anwar in a press conference on Thursday.
Rao, on the occasion, claimed that MQM’s key leaders such as Nadeem Nusrat and Muhammad Anwar also have association with Indian premier intelligence agency. Altaf Haussain has been directly instructing his party leaders in this regard, he alleged.
The arrested activists, identified as Junaid and Tahir, revealed to the police that they went to Indian capital city New Delhi via Bangkok and returned to Pakistan after getting essential training of making explosives and using modern arms, SSP said. He told the reporters that at least sixty workers of MQM are still under training by RAW.
He went on to say that he will recommend the government to permanently ban MQM from functioning inside Pakistan.
He blamed MQM’s sub-body Khidmat-e-Khalaq Foundation (KKF) for making arrangements for sending party workers to India.
Both the arrested activists have been handed over to police on physical remand of 15 days by the judicial magistrate, according to official who believes the further investigations will reveal many eye-opening facts.
Police presented the two suspects before the media as well.
