LAHORE – Punjab students return to classrooms for a new academic chapter as the long summer break finally comes to an end.
After weeks of holidays, all public and private schools in Punjab reopened their doors, with students returning amid excitement and enthusiasm. School corridors and playgrounds once again came alive with the sounds of children, while teachers warmly welcomed students back.
Parents welcomed the return to routine, hoping that the new academic phase would help students regain momentum and achieve better educational outcomes.
New School timings
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat welcomed students back following the summer holidays and announced that schools across the province would follow officially notified timings from Monday to Friday.
School hours have been fixed from 8:00am to 1:30pm, with institutions directed to organise their daily schedules according to the timings specified in the official notification.
The minister said the learning journey would now resume with “new energy” from where it had stopped, stressing that teachers must help students whose education was disrupted during the holidays regain their academic continuity.
The provincial education minister also revealed that consultations are underway to formulate a new strategy to prevent educational losses in the future.
With schools now back in session, Punjab’s education system has entered a fresh academic phase, with the government facing the twin challenge of restoring learning momentum after the extended break and ensuring that children remain connected to education.
