PM Imran Khan set to embark on first Turkey visit

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan would be visiting Turkey for a two-day official visit on January 3 on President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s invitation.

This will be Premier Imran’s first visit to the country after assuming charge.

Imran Khan will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Planning Minister Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtyar and Adviser to the Prime Minister Abdul Razak Dawood.

During the visit, he will meet President Erdogan and discuss the prospects of cementing bilateral relations between the two countries; regional and international situation will also be exchanged by the leaders.

Imran Khan will also address a business forum, and meet several businessmen and potential investors during his stay in Ankara.

Pakistan and Turkey enjoy historic relations based on a common religious and cultural legacy.

Prime Minister Imran’s upcoming visit is crucial as Erdogan maintained close ties with the Sharifs- now behind bars in Pakistan.
