MOSCOW – Russia on Friday strongly condemned the recent attack launched by the Balochistan Liberation Army, a banned outfit, on Chinese Consulate in Karachi.
Maria Zhakharova, spokesperson Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated this during a weekly briefing after a question raised by Ishtiaq Hamdani, the senior Pakistani journalist.
During the presser, Hamdani sought comments from the Russian official with regards to Britain’s double standard by giving refuge to Hyrbyar Marri, chief of the BLA.
Maria Zakharova said that Russia strongly condemned the attack as there is no justification for such terror activities.
Moreover she demanded further information on subject of Hyrbyar Marri’s political asylum in Britain to analyse the case further.
Last week, three terrorists of the separatist group attempted to break into the consulate after launching an attack on the security official deployed at the compound.

However, the terror bid was foiled by the Pakistani security officials by killing all the three assailants, saving the lives of Chinese staff.
Two policemen and two other persons who identified as father and son were also martyred in the attack that happened around at 9:30 am in Clifton Block 4, an area of the metropolitan.
BLA Claims Responsibility
Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) had reportedly claimed the responsibility for the attack.
The terrorist group has been involved in several activities to hinder the implementation of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, a mega economic deal between two countries.
India has also been jealous of the economic deal between Islamabad and Beijing. Few years ago, security forces had arrested an Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav involved in anti-Pakistan activities.
Jadhav, who was awarded death sentence by a military court, has confessed to providing funds to the BLA.
Harbiyar Marri Among 13 Booked for Attack
The Sindh police’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Saturday (Nov 25) booked Harbiyar Marri, a fugitive leader of the proscribed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), and his 12 aides for Chinese Consulate attack in Karachi.
