NEW DELHI – An unidentified caller Thursday threatened Pakistani High Commissioner to India using an Indian phone number, the officials confirmed.
According to the High Commission staff, the caller warned Abdul Basit to immediately return to his country [Pakistan]. He also threatened of consequences if Basit did not leave India, the statement added.
Meanwhile, Pakistani High Commissioner has asked the Indian Ministry of External Affairs to investigate into the matter and arrest the caller.
The development surfaced as Indian DGMO on Thursday claimed that Indian forces had conducted a surgical strike across the Line of Control (LoC) in Azad Kashmir. Pakistan denied the Indian claim, asserting that it was a ceasefire violation which befittingly responded by Pakistani side.
