MULTAN – A terrorism plan of targeting Muharram processions in the city has been defeated by the timely action of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).
According to spokesman CTD, a terrorist network of banned outfits has been arrested on Friday.
CTD arrested four accused namely Nasir, Ali, Tahir and Shafqat and recovered huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives from their possession.
Six Hand grenades, two 30 bore pistols, one IED, 02 kg explosive, 10 detonators and other material was recovered from the suspects.
The network had planned to attack at the Muharram Procession on 9th Muharram (today). Further investigation into the matter has been launched.-Online
