LAHORE (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif along with Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif attended the passing out parade of first batch of the counter-terrorism force at the Elite Police Training School on Baidian Road in Lahore.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Provincial Ministers of Punjab were also present at the ceremony.
According to an official, 1182 candidates were selected for the counter-terrorism force while the first batch of the counter terrorism force comprised of 421 personnel including 16 females. The second batch includes 425 personnel and there are 336 personnel in the third batch.
Five army officials and 33 Special Services Group (SSG) commandos are training them.
Around 40 retired instructors of SSG, Punjab police and Turkish experts are also assisting the trainees in the fields of investigation, intelligence and special operations.

On the occasion, the personnel of Counter Terrorism Force demonstrated their skills to apprehend the terrorists.
The Prime Minister also distributed certificates and cash prizes amongst the outstanding members.
Addressing the event, PM Nawaz said the establishment of counter terrorism force is also part of the action plan. He said this force will be equipped with modern security gadgets and provided necessary training.
Nawaz Sharif said our people including children, women and security personnel have rendered matchless sacrifices in the war on terror. The blood of martyrs has united the entire nation.
He said protection of lives and properties of people and maintenance of law and order is foremost priority.
