Kabul: Suicide bomber attacks near Iraqi embassy

KABUL – Security officials in the Afghan capital on Monday said that a suicide bomber attacked a police compound and the nearby Iraqi embassy in Kabul.

According to a police spokesman, security forces were at the scene and a gun battle was underway.

Security officials said there appeared to be five gunmen involved but there was no immediate word on any casualties.

No one has taken responsibility for the attack, though both the Taliban and an Isis affiliated group have previously carried out such attacks in Kabul, according to Independent.

The attack comes just a week after at least 35 people were killed in a suicide attack on government workers in Kabul which was claimed by Taliban.
