ISLAMABAD – A fresh wave of protests by Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan has prompted snarl-ups across various cities of the country as multiple thoroughfares have been blocked by the demonstrators.
Scores of TLP leaders sprung into action on Wednesday after the Supreme Court overturned the death sentence of a Christian woman, Asia Bibi, convicted of blasphemy.
Lahore
The residents of Punjab’s capital, Lahore were left high and dry when multiple roads were blocked in the city including Ferozpur Road, Model Town Link Road, Faiz Pur Interchange.
Punjab Safe Cities Authority has also unveiled a list of the areas currently blocked. The citizens are advised to follow FM 88.6 or follow the official page of PSCA.

Moreover, the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway was blocked at Sheikhupura. The GT Road has also been blocked.
Islamabad
Faizabad, Aabpara, and Kashmir Highway adjacent to Aabpara have been blocked by protesters in the capital – where the TLP protesters staged a sit-in for 21 days against an amendment in the Election Act 2017.
Islamabad police issued a diversion plane in the wake of protests saying, Bara Kahu, Tarnol and Kashmir Highway was open for traffic.

Karachi
Pakistan’s biggest city Karachi also witnessed chaos as traffic had been blocked at 14 points across the metropolis. Do Talwar, Korangi, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Shahrah-e-Pakistan, Orangi Town, Numaish and Liaquatabad brimmed with vehicles as the demonstrators blocked roads.

Peshawar
In Peshawar, protests are being staged at the Ring Road, GT Road, Jamil Chowk, and outside the Peshawar Press Club.
