Ranveer Singh dedicates ‘Best Actor’ award to wife Deepika Padukone

MUMBAI – Newlywed Bollywood couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh made a head-turning entry to the Star Screen Awards 2018 in Mumbai on Sunday night (yesterday).

Ranveer won the best actor award for his amazing performance as Allaudin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat released in January 2018. An inside video from the awards night shows Ranveer lovingly dedicating the award to his wife and his real queen – Deepika Padukone.

Film main mujhe Rani nahi mili ( I did not get the Queen in the film), but in real life, I have got my Queen,” said Ranveer pointing towards his ladylove.

“Baby, I love you, pichhle 6 saal main maine kuch bhi achieve kiya hai, kyunki aap ne mujhe grounded rakha, centered rakha, thank you for everything and I love you. (Whatever I have achieved in the last 6 years is because you kept me centered and grounded).” he added.

Apart from Deepika, he also thanked in the speech his parents, sister and his late grandmother, who passed away earlier this year. Ranveer also thanked Sanjay Leela Bhansali for trusting him with such a demanding role.

Deepika and Ranveer got married as per Konkani and Sindhi traditions on November 14 and 15 in Italy’s Lake Como. The  star couple had also hosted receptions in Bengaluru and Mumbai .

On the work front, Ranveer Singh awaits the release of Simmba, while Deepika Padukone will be seen in Meghna Gulzar’s untitled film, which is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
