With the buzz concerning B-Town’s all-time favourite duo of Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan starring in Hindi Medium 2 coming to an end, latest reports suggest that the sequel found a replacement for Saba Qamar which is none other than Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan.
For months, fans have been waiting for their favourite actor Irrfan Khan, to return to the big screen. The star of Hindi Medium flew to London for treatment of a neuroendocrine tumour last year. Since then, his fans haven’t stopped praying for his quick recovery and want to see him back onscreen soon.
Irrfan Khan will be returning soon and will be working on the second installment of his 2017 hit film. Hindi Medium 2 will be directed by Homi Adajania and the news was confirmed by producer Dinesh Vijan.
While Saba Qamar made her Bollywood debut with the first instalment, she will reportedly be replaced in Hindi Medium 2. Latest reports suggest Bollywood queen Kareena Kapoor Khan is in talks to play the leading lady opposite Khan. While the makers have approached Kareena to join the cast of the film, the Veere de wedding star has not signed the project yet. If she does take on the role, this will be her first-ever collaboration with Irrfan.
Kareena is currently busy shooting for ‘Good News’ alongside Akshay Kumar and Diljit Dosanjh. She also has Karan Johar’s progressive period-drama ‘Takht’ in her list.
The first part of Hindi Medium starring the gorgeous Saba Qamar opposite Irrfan Khan surely left a lasting impact in the audiences. Hindi Medium went on to be one of the biggest hits of 2017. Irrfan Khan also was awarded the Best Actor award for the same by Filmfare. The movie also opened to a fleeting start in China. Backed by T-Series and Maddock Films, it released in China on April 4, 2018, and made $3.68 million on its opening day.
It’s safe to say that Saba Qamar gained a lot of popularity for her incredible performance in Hindi Medium, but will Bebo do justice to the role if she signs Hindi Medium 2? Only time will tell.
