Ali Sethi s song Umran Langiyaan to be part of Jemima Khan’s documentary

Remember Ali Sethi’s hit Coke Studio song ‘Umran Langiyaan’ that he sang alongside Nabeel Shaukat Ali?

The track was an immediate hit and has received more than four million views till date.

Now we’re hearing that this Coke Studio hit could be featured in the Jemima Khan-produced documentary.

The singer took to his Instagram and revealed that a Pakistani-American lawyer, Rabia Chaudhry had heard Sethi’s cover of ‘Umran Langiyaan’.

The lawyer came across Sethi’s cover while she was researching for the HBO documentary “The Case Against Adnan Syed” that is produced by Jemima Khan’s company. Rabia was so amazed by his voice that she suggested Sethi’s track to become a part of the project.

Ali Sethi will be featuring alongside popular American singer, Lana Del Ray and Australian musician, Nick Cave.

The Case of Adnan Syed is a re-investigation of an old case of a high-school teen, Hae Min Lee and ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed convicted of her murder.

The documentary revolves around the efforts of the protagonist’s lawyer friend Rabia Chaudhary who fought for his new trial after serving 18 years in jail.

“It’s constantly heartening to realize that your work affects humans,” said Sethi in a declaration. “I can’t wait to watch the film.”

Only Sethi’s portion of the eight-minute song will be in the second episode of the documentary. The Case Against Adnan Syed premieres on March 10th, 2019.
