ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday has paid tribute to Fatima Jinnah and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to ensuring women an enabling environment to play their rightful role in the development of the nation.
The premier took to Twitter and said, “On Women’s Day, we pay tribute to Fatima Jinnah who stood steadfastly beside the Quaid in his struggle for Pakistan.”

“We reaffirm our commitment to ensuring women a secure and enabling environment to play their rightful role in our nation’s development,” PM Imran added.
International Women’s Day is being observed today to raise awareness against gender bias and to take action for equality.
In Pakistan, the Aurat March 2019 is set to take place in all major cities to accord with and commemorate the International Women’s Day.
Various groups of civil rights activists will be participating in Aurat Marches in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Peshawar, and Mardan.
This year’s theme of the Day is “Think equal, build smart, innovate for change.”
