ISLAMABAD – Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria will return to Islamabad today (Saturday) and take charge of the post once again as after tensions between the two countries have deescalated.
After the Pulwama attack on February 14, both the countries summoned their envoys for consultations.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said Bisaria will be returning to Islamabad as he has completed his consultations in New Delhi.
Indian MEA Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said that “High Commissioner of India to Pakistan, Ajay Bisaria, is returning to Islamabad after having completed his consultations in India. He will reach Islamabad on March 9, 2019, and resume his duties.”
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Sohail Mahmood has also left for New Delhi today.
Before leaving to New Delhi Sohail hold a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan and exchanged views on Pakistan India relations.
A Pakistani delegation is expected to visit New Delhi on March 14 as planned for talks to finalise the modalities for the Kartarpur Corridor. The Indian delegation would then pay a return visit to Islamabad on March 28.
