PESHAWAR – At least six people, including a child, have been killed and other 54 injured after heavy storm and rain hit parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, three persons were killed in Peshawar, two in Swabi and one in Mohmand district.
The gusty winds also ripped off the ceiling of a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project station No 26 in Tajabad.
The storm also damaged houses and uprooted trees in various areas including Peshawar, Swabi, DI Khan, Malakand.
Electricity supply to different part of the province was also disrupted due to the heavy rain. The spokesperson of PESCO said 191 feeders were tripped due to the heavy rain in the city.
Separately, parts of the country including, Lahore, Sialkot, Pindi, Islamabad, Murree, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Attock, as well as Azad Kashmir also experienced heavy rains, with power outages in various cities.
