Umer Sharif confirms he’s not hospitalized, announces new stage dramas

KARACHI – Stand-up comedian and actor Umer Sharif on Saturday has refuted news about him being ill and announced that he will do more stage shows.

In a video statement, the comedian said that someone had spread the news him being admitted to the hospital which is baseless as he is ready to resume work. He requested people to stop spreading false news about his health. “My relatives who live in different countries get worried after reading such news. I don’t know the people who have been saying this, but I would’ve personally gone to their houses and requested them to stop sharing fake news, he added.

He further said that he will be performing in a theatre play on Eidul Fitr.

Sharif is one of the most famous comedians in the country. He started his career as a stage actor and has starred in many popular comedy shows such as Bakra Qistoon Pay and Buddha Ghar Pe Hai. Many people have termed as the ‘King of Comedy’ in South Asia.

He has been awarded a Tamgah-e-Imtiaz too.
