KARACHI (Staff Report) – Consulate General of Switzerland in Karachi organized an event to celebrate 724th National Day of Switzerland here at a hotel.
On the occasion Swiss Consul General, Emil Wyss addressed around 800 guests from different walks of life including head and officials of Afzal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation, Association for the Blind, Marie Adelaide Leprosy Center, Pakistan Wheel Chair Cricket team and Make a Wish Foundation, said a statement on Tuesday.
National anthems of Switzerland and Pakistan were presented by the artistes of National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA), Karachi, before his address.
Swiss Consul General in his address highlighted the activities of Swiss Consulate General during past year, including signing of a MOU with the Punjab Board of Industry and Trade, arrangement of a number
of business trips to Lahore, Islamabad, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Umerkot and Mirpurkhas.
The Swiss Consul General stated that Pakistan-Switzerland Friendship took place on May 29 at Karachi International Airport. Over 500,000 international and domestic travelers, politicians, government officials, business men and women, pilgrims and tourists will see this first of its kind exhibition during the 100 days a night opening period.
As of today, over 40 business-to-business questionnaires have been filled in and will provide new opportunities for trade and investment in Pakistan and Switzerland.
