40 militants killed in aerial action in North Waziristan

RAWALPINDI (Staff Report) – At least 40 suspected militants have been killed in an aerial action of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in North Waziristan, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Sunday.

The aerial attack was carried in Shahwal valley of North Waziristan which left dozens others injured also. The hideouts of militants were also completely destroyed.

Earlier Chief of the army staff General Raheel Sharif said the ongoing military operation has confined militants to penny pockets and that Zarb-e-Azb is in its final stages, while he visit the front lines on Wednesday this week.

On the occasion General Raheel also appreciated the efforts of army personnel in reclaiming the sacred land of Pakistan.

“These enemies of state and their financiers will not find any place in Pakistan and will ultimately meet their justified end,” he said.

Pakistan army began operation Zarb-e-Azb in July 2014 to cleans tribal belt of the country, previously said to be a safe heaven of terrorist, after a peace dialogue between local Taliban insurgents and government failed.
