Rangers personnel commits suicide in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD (Online) – A Rangers official apparently committed suicide within Kohsar police jurisdiction.

The victim identified as sepoy Muhammad Bashir, a resident of Narowal, shot himself on head with his own rifle while performing duty in Saidpur Village.

He was rushed to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead as brought, according to SHO Hakim Khan.

The body has been handed over to Rangers after medico-legal formalities, the SHO added.

Motive behind suicide could not be ascertained.

A similar incident was reported in April when Lance Naik Khaleeq shot himself with his G3 rifle, at 7:00 am near Bari Imam, Islamabad. He was shifted to polyclinic in serious condition, but succumbed to his injuries.

Lance Naik Khaleeq, 21, was a resident of Tokra, an area of Khanewal. He was survived by wife, five sons and three daughters.
