South Africa crushes West Indies by 257 runs defeat

SYDNEY (APP) – South Africa defeated West Indies by 257 runs in World Cup Pool B game at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday.

South African, while batting first after winning the toss, put a huge score of 408/5 in 50 overs, which is the highest score by any team in World cup 2015.

West Indies failed to chase the target collapsing at 151 runs.

South Africa, when started batting, they left a wicket of Q De Kock in the 6th over but after that F Du Plessis and H Amla made wonderful partnership of 127 run help Africa to record huge total.

But after that AB De Villiers scored 162 run in just 66 balls with help of 17 fours and 8 Sixes to set a big total of 409.

Rossouw also played a quick inning of 61 run in 39 balls.

The highest World Cup total is 413 fore five made by India against Bermuda, a non-Test nation, in Trinidad in 2007.

The fastest ever World Cup century was made by Ireland s Kevin O Brien, off 50 balls, against England in Bangalore during the 2011 tournament.

It is a crucial game for the Proteas after they lost by 130 runs to India, while the West Indies are confident following their 73-run win over Zimbabwe.
