Different road projects connecting Pakistan, Tajikistan approved

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in Murree on Friday.

The President of Tajikistan was given a detailed briefing by Chairman Highway Authority Shahid Ashraf Tarar.

Different infrastructure projects were presented showing options of connectivity between Pakistan and Tajikistan.

Both the leaders gave in-principle approval of different road projects connecting Pakistan and Tajikistan. Approval was given to Gwadar-Peshawar-Kabul-Kunduz-Dushanbe route and Khunjrab-Kalasu-Murghab route and Chitral-Eshkahem-Dushanbe route.

Presentation was also given on issues relating to regional security to the President by Special Assistant to Prime Minister, Tariq Fatemi.

The Prime Minister said that regional connectivity with Tajikistan and CPEC projects would transform the economic outlook for the entire region. He added that CPEC and connectivity projects with Tajikistan will prove to be game changer for the whole region.

The Tajik President appreciated the ongoing infrastructure projects of Pakistan and extended complete support for implementation of the proposed projects.

He also assured to complete the CASA-1000 projects within stipulated time.

Meanwhile, Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon has left Islamabad for home after two day visit to Pakistan.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif bid him adieu at the Noor Khan Airbase, Rawalpindi.
