WASHINGTON (Staff Report) – Pakistan Army spokesman Lt Gen Asim Bajwa has said Daesh – better known as ISIS – is a threat for the entire world but Pakistan has zero tolerance for it.
“Daesh is a threat for the whole world. Everyone will have to deal with it together,” the chief of Pakistan Army’s Inter Services Public Relations wing said during a press briefing in Washington.
Bajwa said Daesh cannot defeat world powers and carrying out its activities in Middle East at present.
“The other regions can also face threat from it. Daesh is gaining foothold in Afghanistan. But there is no room for it in Pakistan.
“There is zero tolerance policy for it in Pakistan. Clear cut action will be taken against it.”
The DG ISPR held that major part of operation Zarb-e-Azb has been accomplished, without giving any time frame when it will be completed.
He went on to say that operations were being launched against the terrorists under well-organised strategy. “They (terrorists) will find no place to hide,” he added.
The military operations are continuing in FATA and other mountainous areas successfully, Bajwa underlined and added that major part of North Waziristan has been cleared following successes in Khyber agency.
“When Operation Zarb-e-Azb was started, the terrorists fled to Afghanistan through open border between the two countries,” he pointed out. Action will be taken against the facilitators and associates of terrorists, he affirmed.
The DG ISPR reiterated the commitment to resolve the Kashmir dispute with India soon.
Citing to Pakistan-US ties, Bajwa said they were heading towards positive direction. “No third country could influence them as United States sees its relations with Pakistan in individual capacity,” he remarked.
