13-month-old terrorist produced in anti-terrorism court

LAHORE (Staff Report) – A 13-month-old boy -with a feeder in his hands- was produced in an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday, along with several others on the allegation of causing serious damage to public property during a protest.

The boy, who was identified as Aqdas, was arrested by police authorities following a protest in Sheikhupura polling station during the second phase of local bodies election on November 19.

During the hearing, ATC judge questioned the police that how could such a young boy cause damage to property? The matter will be thoroughly reviewed about inclusion of boy’s name in FIR, the court ruled.

On the occasion, the father of boy prayed to court to accept a bail plea ordering release of the child as he cannot live alone in police custody.

The court adjourned hearing ordering the police officials to release the boy on bail.
