KABUL (Staff Report) – A powerful blast hit Afghan capital city Kabul Monday morning outside Hamid Karzai international airport which was followed by heavy gunfire.
Law enforcement agencies rushed to blast site immediately and a rescue operation was kicked off.
According to Afghan media reports the blast was probably a suicide attack which targeted a foreign military convoy.
At least four civilians were wounded and one killed in the blast. Three Turkish troops were also injured in the attack according to unconfirmed reports.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI) Mr Sediq Sediq confirmed the incident saying that blast took place after a vehicle was packed with explosives in the eastern part of Hamid Karzai airport.

Taliban insurgents have claimed responsibility of the blast saying that they targeted foreign troops, reported Afghan media.
