Afghan Taliban deny Mullah Mansour s meeting with Putin, but not links with Russia

KABUL (News Desk) – Afghan Taliban have denied reports of a secret meeting between Mullah Mansour and Russian President Putin saying that the group was continuously in contact with all regional countries to end American invasion in Afghanistan.

Last week London based newspaper The Sunday Times reported that Putin had met Mansour in September this year to devise a common strategy against Islamic State group which functions in Iraq and Syria.

According to Taliban statement, in which the group called itself “Islamic Emirates”, no talks have been made with any country in connection with Islamic State group.

“Taliban neither need any support from an outside groups nor it approached anyone in this regard,” it added.

Putin has been strong proponent of action against Islamic State group since Moscow began air raids mission in Syria which is often reported to be targeting most of the anti-Assad fighters by western media.
