Mazari draws UK attention to Nine-Zero raid

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf spokesperson Shireen Mizari asked United Kingdom to take an immediate notice over recovery of foreign arms and ammunition from MQM’s headquarter in Karachi.

Mizari, immediately after the Rangers conducted a raid Nine Zero said, “About time UK govt took notice of what UK citizen AH keeps in his “house” in Pak. Such an arms cache surely punishable under UK law also?” at her twitter feed.

However she also condemned the killing of MQM worker during the protests against raid at party headquarter.

She, while talking to a private news channel, demanded MQM to peacefully record their protest against the raid rather shutting down the whole provincial capital.

Rangers have categorically denied any sort of involvement in the murder of the worker.

Earlier in the day, paramilitary Rangers raided the offices MQM in Karachi, arresting activists, criminals and seizing a “huge quantity” of weapons.

The raid sparked an angry response from the party, with workers shutting down large parts of Pakistan’s biggest city.

Rangers spokesman said the raid was conducted on an intelligence tip-off that convicted criminals were hiding inside. “We have arrested five to six people who had criminal backgrounds,” Colonel Tahir Mahmood, who was leading the team, told reporters outside MQM headquarters.
