LAHORE (Staff Report) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan Tuesday ordered NADRA to verify the thumb-impressions of voters in NA-125 Lahore, in a petition filed by Khawaja Saad Rafique against a decision of Election Tribunal which declared his election as null and void.
The apex ordered NADRA to submit its reports with in three months. PTI’s Hamid Khan will bear all expenses of the whole verification process, it ruled.
Earlier an Election Tribunal declared the election of Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique as null and void accepting a plea of Hamid Khan last year.
The tribunal ordered a re-election in NA-125 Lahore however Saad Rafique moved SC and earned a stay order against the tribunal.
In 2013 General Election Saaad Rafique was declared as winner in NA-125 Lahore however PTI’s Hamid Khan challenged the election result hurling rigging allegations.
