Maryam Nawaz says she doesn’t own any company or property abroad

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz has categorically denied that she owns any company or property abroad.

“My brother has made me a trustee in one of his corporations which only entitles me to distribute assets to my brother Hussain’s family/childern if needed,” Maryam Tweeted.

The rejection comes after Panama Papers, a global investigation into the sprawling, secretive industry of offshore that the world’s richest and powerful use to hide assets and skirt rules by setting up front companies in far-flung jurisdictions has jolted the whole world.

Among those named are three of Sharif’s four children — Maryam, who has been tipped to be his political successor; Hasan and Hussain, with the records showing they owned London real estate through offshore companies administrated by the firm.

The details were made public by International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung.
