ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – A total of 69,534 prospective pilgrims were selected through open computerized balloting here on Thursday to perform the sacred religious ceremony under the Government Hajj Scheme 2016.
Minister for Religious Affairs, Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf conducted the balloting at the committee room of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The selection has been based on groups from one to fourteen pilgrims.
The selection of a group leader means selection of the whole group under him, he said, adding that as many as 17,213 groups have been selected.

Candidates will be informed of their selection via messages on their designated phone number, while the list will also be available on the official website of the Ministry for Religious Affairs.
The balloting process, initially scheduled to be held in Islamabad on April 29, was postponed earlier in view of a writ petition filed by private Hajj organisers at the Supreme Court challenging the decrease in quota for private Hajj.
