ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Immediately after Imran Khan’s statement that the government wanted to change the MoU for the formation of judicial commission to investigate the allegations of rigging in the 2013 general elections, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar snapped back, saying not even a comma or full stop was being changed in the MoU agreed upon with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
The minister said Imran Khan was paying heed to ‘hearsay’ which, according to him, can distract the government and PTI. “Only those changes previously agreed upon with the opposition party would be incorporated to the accord.”
He insisted he has been continuously in contact with PTI’s Jahangir Tareen regarding this matter. The MoU was signed after great efforts made by the either blocs, he added.
Earlier, Imran Khan said the PML-N government was backing out of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) recently signed to launch a probe into the alleged rigging in the general elections of 2013.
Meanwhile Zafaraullah Khan, the special advisor to prime minister, on Friday said the government has not proposed any major change in the accord signed with PTI to probe the rigging allegations.
“We only want to make few minor changes to the MoU to make it more clear, explained the advisor, adding it will not affect the spirit of the agreement.
No changes in the three-key points of the memorandum have been proposed, he concluded.
