Funeral of late King Abdullah offered

RIYADH (Web Desk) – The final tributary prayer of the lateSaudi Arabian King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud who died of severe pneumonia on Friday night has been offered in Imam Turkey mosque of the royal capital.
The funeral was attended by many world leaders including the local royal princes and officials. Other Arab leaders who arrived in Riyadh included Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said.
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian Prime Minister Dimitri Medvedev also flew to Saudi capital to attend the funeral prayers.
Earlier, world leaders paid tribute to Saudi King Abdullah, with President Barack Obama hailing him as a bold leader and French President François Hollande describing him as “a statesman whose work has profoundly marked the history of his country.”
U.S. President Barack Obama hailed King Abdullah as a “candid” leader who “had the courage of his convictions.”
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif declared death of Abdullah as a loss of friend for his nation.
