LAHORE (Web Desk) – The head of the commission to probe allegations of rigging in NA-122 during general election 2013 said that there was no rigging found during investigation but a number of irregularities by administration were somehow recorded .
While talking to media after submitting his statement before Election Tribunal Ghulam Hussain, the inquiry judge explained that there was not a single bogus vote cast in the constituency. All those recorded irregularities have been already submitted to the commission which reserves right to decide the case, he added.
On this occasion, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) workers came face-to-face outside the tribunal office and chanted slogans in favor of their leaders and parties.
Judge Malik Ghulam Hussain Awan in his statement recorded for the tribunal said Forms 14 and 15 were not present in many of the bags. Awan further said that over 30,000 counter foils did not have stamps or seals.
Awan added that it is up to the tribunal now to consider rejecting the 30,000 votes or not and deciding if rigging had taken place in NA-122.
The hearing was then adjourned till January 31.
“we found a large number of ballot boxes with broken seals while there many ballot papers issued without collection of thumb impression of the voters also”, he quoted.
Earlier Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran had claimed that the inquiry commission found 32,000 bogus votes in the constituency.
