ISLAMABAD – Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday has sought a complete investigation report regarding Tayyaba torture case within three days.
A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar heard the case and ordered the victim child maid and his parents to appear before the court on next date of hearing. The case has been adjourned until Wednesday of next week.
Two families have claimed to be parents of the child maid and the court has ordered to conduct a DNA test of both families to find the truth.
The apex court has also directed the DIG Islamabad to make a high-level investigation team to probe the matter on merit.
The court also granted time to additional session judge’s wife Maheen Zafar to submit reply on next hearing.
The chief justice remarked that there could not be reconciliation on the violation of basic human rights, demanding to know how reconciliation was made in Tayyaba torture case.
Torture on Child Maid
The case was highlighted by the media after shocking pictures of the girl stormed the internet. Afterwards, the police took the girl into custody after recovering her from the judge’s house.
In a First Information Report, however, she stated that she had been living at the judge’s house for nearly two years.
She claimed that she was often beaten up in the house. Most recently, she alleged ‘Mano Baji’ shoved her hands onto a burning stove and then beat her after a broom went missing in the judge’s house.
Disclosing shocking details regarding her captivity, she said the owners of the house usually locked her up in a storeroom at night in addition to starving and thrashing her.
