ISLAMABAD – Following the summary forwarded by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, the government has hiked the prices of petrol and diesel on Tuesday.
Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced an increase in the petroleum products. The per liter price of petrol has been increased by Rs 2.25 while the price of high speed diesel has been hiked by Rs 2.26 per liter.
The prices of light speed diesel and kerosene oil remained unchanged.
The finance minister said that price had not been increased in line with Ogra’s recommendation.
OGRA had proposed to hike prices of petrol and high-speed diesel by Rs 4.15 per litre and Rs 4.30 per litre.
The authority had sent a summary to Ministry of Petroleum, seeking a raise in petroleum products. It has been asked to hike the price of kerosene oil price by Rs 16.7/ litre, light-speed diesel by Rs 12.15/litre and HOBC by Rs 12.50/litre, local media reported.
