LAHORE – An agitated family stormed into a police station in Ferozewala district of Punjab and ransacked the building in a protest over the brutal behaviour of police with their kin.
The protestors staged a strong demonstration Saturday against the Ferozewala SHO for allegedly harassing and beating up a woman during custody.
In a video clip of the whole incident, posted on Facebook, members of a family including men and women barging in the police station and accusing the Station House Officer (SHO) of stripping their family member “naked in lockups, the whole night”.
The protestors also broke the furniture after ramming the main gate of the police station. The protesters demanded strict action against the SHO and the policemen who accompanied him.
Police, on the other hand, said they had arrested some people for selling drugs and this was “an attempt to pressurise the police.”
