Saleem Shahzad sent on 14-day judicial remand

KARACHI – On Tuesday an anti-terrorism court sent former leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Saleem Shahzad on a 14-day judicial remand.

Saleem Shahzad, who was arrested on Monday (yesterday) by the police at Karachi airport soon after his return to Pakistan, was presented before the court for the hearing of several cases against him, including providing medical facilities to terrorists.

During the hearing, the court asked the suspect why he did not move an application to get protective bail before returning to Pakistan. Shahzad replied that he did not know about his arrest.

Saleem Shahzad had landed in Karachi ending his self-exile on Monday. He was arrested shortly after landing and was shifted to Gaddap police station for further interrogation.
