Lunar eclipse to be witnessed in Pakistan on Feb 11

KARACHI – Director, Climate Data Processing Center (CDPC), Pakistan Meteorological Department Dr Abdul Rashid on Thursday said the penumbral eclipse of moon will be visible in Pakistan on February 11.

Dr Abdul Rashid said the penumbral lunar eclipse, during which only the more diffused outer shadow of Earth falls on the moon’s face will begin at 3:34 hours Pakistan Standard Time on Saturday.

“Very observant people may be able to notice a dark shadow on the moon’s face during the mid-eclipse phase,” the expert said.

He, however, mentioned that as per assessed visibility timings the best chance to see greatest eclipse can be 5:44 PST whereas it will end at 7:53 PST.

The penumbral lunar eclipse was said to also be visible in America, Europe, Africa and other parts of Asia.
