Veena Malik s marriage ends as she gets khula from Asad Khattak

LAHORE – In a tragic turn of events, Pakistani actress Veena Malik has obtained ‘khula’ from her husband Asad Khattak through family court.

Veena filed for ‘khula’ (divorce) from Asad Khattak on January 6 and the court announced a decree in favour of Veena Malik on January 31, 2017. The family court announced ex parte decree as Asad Khattak counsel did not appear in the court.

Veena Malik’s counsel, Ali Ahmed, has confirmed the separation between Veena and Asad.

Actress Veena had tied the knot with UK-based businessman, Asad Bashir Khattak, who originally hails from Bannu in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in December 2013. They both maintained good relations for three long years and have two children together before finally parting ways.

Veena has chosen to keep mum about the split but her husband Asad expressed that he loved Veena and hoped that the situation would get better.

The couple was blessed with two children Abram and Amal and the whole process regarding khula was kept under the wraps.

Veena has been through scores of controversies throughout her professional life. After a highly-publicised relationship with Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif, she gained notoriety for getting “too close” to her fellow Big Boss contestant Ashmit Patel. She then turned to religion after her marriage to Khattak. In 2015, she left Pakistan after being accused of blasphemy. She has also received death threats.
