Comedian Umer Sharif admitted to hospital in Lahore

LAHORE – Renowned stand-up comedian and actor Umer Sharif has been admitted to Doctors Hospital in Lahore after suffering from chest infections and seasonal cough and flu.

According to the hospital administration, Sharif was taken to the hospital two days ago after experiencing severe chest infections and cough.  He will be discharged on Thursday night (today).

The comedian’s welfare trust Omer Sharif Welfare Trust itself supports the MAA Hospital which is a charitable health centre whose goal is to provide efficient modern health care, especially for Pakistan’s artistic community.

The veteran actor reportedly has a medical history of heart failures.

Fans of the comedian, overwhelmed by his health, took to Twitter to call for prayers.
