LAHORE – Police have arrested a driver after registering a case against him for running over two police officials in the Defence area of Lahore on the eve of New Year, on Sunday.
The policemen, Mustansar and Qasim, were performing their duties at a picket when the speeding car rammed into them, resulting in the instant death of Mustansar and inflicting serious injuries on Qasim who is under treatment at a hospital.
A CCTV footage of the horrifying accident shows the cops attempting to run for their lives, as the car takes a sharp turn towards them in a bid to take over a car in front of them.

Initially, ARY News reported that the car belonged to the son of Mian Munir, who happens to be the ‘samdhi’ of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, however, the former first daughter denied the story and insisted that her ‘samdhi’ was Chaudhary Munir, instead of Mian Munir.
