GUJRANWALA – Investigations on Saturday revealed that Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rana Nadeem Tariq along with EXEN Wapda and Tehsildars were blackmailed by a group of gangsters.
Earlier, DSP Gujranwala was suspended after his naked photos emerged on media.
DIG investigations Punjab Munir Masood said that early inquiry, in this case, has been completed and gangsters have confessed their crime, reports Dunya News.
The DIG said that many others who were blackmailed by the gang want to present themselves for an inquiry.
Police arrested the suspects when they were going to get money from a victim named Azhar, adding that upon the arrest, the gang warned police to viral the objectionable video of DSP Rana Nadeem.
The report of inquiry will be submitted to IG Punjab in few days, added DIG investigation.
The suspended DSP Rana Nadeem told media that he was innocent and he would not be blackmailed by these tactics.
Rana claimed that ‘an informant named Nouman had called him to an office in Mandi Bahauddin where three other men had forcibly stripped him naked and took his naked photographs with Nauman.
The senior police official has said he is innocent and states on oath that he never met Nouman before the incident.
