Detained Czech model bursts into tears after unfavourable ruling in heroin smuggling case

LAHORE – Tereza Hluskova, the model from the Czech Republic, who was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency for trying to smuggle nine kilogrammes of heroin, burst into tears after an Additional Sessions Judge passed an ‘unfavourable’ ruling, transferring the case to another judge.

The 21-year-old woman was presented before the court of Shahid Bashir Chaudhry on Monday, however, the judge remarked that due to the busy schedule in the backdrop of elections, he wanted to transfer the case in another court.

Upon this, the accused was left dismayed prompting the lawyer to request the same judge, continue the proceedings.

‘The accused poses complete trust in you, you are well aware of the facts of the case, you should continue hearing the case,’ pleaded the counsel.

To this, the judge accepted the plea and fixed July 10th as the next hearing date.

‘Thank you for your unflinching trust in me, however, the case would be decided on merit,’ remarked the judge.

Additionally, another court issued warrants against the customs officials who were scheduled to appear before the court as the witnesses, however, they did not show up.

Tereza Hluskova was travelling to Ireland via Abu Dhabi when she was caught by Customs officials after successfully passing through two Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) checking counters at Allama Iqbal International Airport in January. She was shifted to Customs House after the officials refused to hand her over to the ANF.
