No truth in appointment of Dr Ameer Jogezai as Governor Balochistan : PM office

QUETTA – Dr Ameer Muhammad Khan Jogezai on Saturday evening refused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) offer of Balochistan governorship.

However, the spokesperson of PM House cleared on Sunday that only the name of Dr Jogezai was under consideration but PM khan had not finalized his name as governor Balochistan.

It was a suggestion and his name being finalized for the top post is fake, he said, adding that there was no further progress on his name after some media outlets reported that Jogezai was under NAB’s radar.

In a video message, Jogezai said that he was thankful to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) for putting their faith in him.

He said that there has been no case registered against him since 2005.

Dr Jogezai’s refusal came after the PTI leadership decided to appoint Dr Ameer Muhammad Khan Jogezai as the new Balochistan governor.

Dr Jogezai is a paediatrician by profession and has also served as the registrar in Quetta’s Bolan Medical College.

Dr Jogezai said he would not let anyone harm PTI and its cause and he would face NAB until he gets cleared.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had started an inquiry against Dr Ameer Jogezai, the then chief executive officer of Kidney Centre, Quetta.
