LAHORE – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led Punjab government on Wednesday extended the parole duration for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter and son-in-law by three days to attend the funeral prayers of deceased Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.
Earlier, the former premier, Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Safdar, who are convicts in Avenfield reference and serving terms in the Adiala Jail, were released for 12 hours on Tuesday. They were shifted to their residence in Lahore amid tight security in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Lahore residence of Sharif family in Jati Umra has been declared sub-jail after the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and other convicts were brought to the place on parole following the demise of Begum Kulsoom.
