Sharjeel Memon warns legal action against KE authorities

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Sindh Information Minsister Sharjeel Memon has warned the K-electric Authorities to correct and manage their system otherwise the authorities responsible for the Electric Breakdown will be arrested and strict legal action will be taken against them.

He said the the prevailing situation in Karachi was result of K-Electric’s incompetence and malice. The minister said that the government was seriously mulling over a legal action against the power utility.

Sharjeel Memon said that K-Electric is being run on commercial basis and its income is about Rs.16 billion. Its negligence, dishonesty and inefficiency of K-electric that people in Karachi are compelled to face severe problems due to repeated electricity breakdown.

Notably the Capital city has faced 4 major electricity breakdowns in one week plunging more than 50 to 80 percent of the city in complete darkness which caused several problem for the people fasting in the holly month of Ramazan, dailynewspak cited.

The minister’s remarks coincides with a statement from a K-Electric spokesman who said weather was a main reason of tripping in transmission line and power outages in Karachi. The minster said, “It seems we have to provide an ideal weather system to K-Electric as it always comes up with pretexts of drizzle and humidity.”
