Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Manto waiting to get cleared in Pakistan

MUMBAI – The Bollywood version of Sadat Hasan Manto’s biopic is all set to release in India soon, and by the looks of it we might just get to see it in Pakistan too. The director of the film Nandita Das is hoping to get a permit for releasing the film in Pakistan.

Taking to Twitter, Nandita recently tweeted that she is currently trying to get Manto to release in Pakistan. She wrote, “We’re working towards releasing the film in Pakistan soon.”

Manto initially premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this year and will be released worldwide on September 21. The decision of clearing the film for Pakistani cinema, however, remains undecided for now.

The film casts Rasika Dugal, Divya Dutta, Rishi Kapoor and Tahir Raj Bhasin in pivotal characters, apart from Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
